This bold statement fish motif vase is challenging to describe. It is HEAVY for its size (7 pounds, just under a foot tall) - you could probably use it to brain an intruder, but please, lift with your legs. The glaze appears to be deliberately crazed/crackled, giving it an appearance of antiquity, but I do not believe it to be more than (roughly) 25-50 years old at best. Unlike typical blue on white pottery, this piece is blue on a light celadon background. The bulbous body, adorned with two fish and repeating designs, leads into a narrower neck and slightly flared mouth. It would work well as a centerpiece vase for a very large table, or a floor vase, or possibly a corner vase on a small display table. I'd love to see it displaying a dried arrangement of Chinese lanterns and money plant (perhaps bringing you a side benefit of luck and prosperity). It's in good vintage condition with a few minor surface blemishes, and of course the (most likely intentional) crazing throughout.
