Who loves vintage lucite with moonglow effect? Vintage jewelry collectors, that’s who! 🀩 Above is an iridescent baby blue moonglow necklace and bracelet with graduated beads in perfect condition. Measurements: Although the necklace measures 17”, it is more comfortable fit for someone who is comfortable wearing a 16” necklace. The bracelet is constructed with wire and is, therefore, somewhat flexible. The smallest it starts is 6” and could be stretched all the way up to 8” (carefully)! For anyone new to Lucite and/or Moonglow, we’ve included some leisure reading for you below! Offer-friendly seller! πŸ˜‰ β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” β€”β€”->What is Lucite? Lucite is a brand name for acrylic resin, a type of plastic known for its clarity and versatility. β€”β€”->What is Moonglow? Moonglow is a vintage style of Lucite that has an internal, iridescent glow, making it appear to shimmer or softly glow in the light. β€”β€”->How is it achieved? The moonglow effect is created by adding specific pigments to the Lucite during the manufacturing process. These pigments interact with light to create the characteristic glow. β€”β€”->Popularity: Moonglow Lucite was particularly popular in the 1950s and 1960s and is now considered a collectible vintage material.

amcfadden10 Hi there! What kind of clasp does the necklace have? I was hoping to add an extender but I know some of the older clasps make that difficult or impossible. Thank you!

mostlyvintageme Hi Alexandra! I apologize for the delay. Crazy week! And answered to your question, the clasp is a box clasp (hidden underneath a circular moon glow bead). The necklace is handknotted and so beautiful. Let me see if I can figure out a way to send you the photos I took of the clasp…

mostlyvintageme OK, @amcfadden10 - because you cannot put photos in the conversation without a purchase, I just went ahead and added quite a few photos of the clasp in the listing photos. Let me know if there’s anything else I can do to answer your questions! Thanks so much for asking, Mary (MostlyVintageMe)

amcfadden10 @mostlyvintageme Thank you so much for providing the additional detail and pictures. I appreciate it very much! It appears it would be really tricky to add an extender to that type of clasp. I’m afraid it would be a little too snug for me. Thank you for taking the time to reply and take pics! It’s a beautiful necklace and bracelet! πŸ’•
