CLASSY 1940s' BLACK FELT HAT + OPEN CROWN AT BACK, LARGE BOW, WHITE TRIM & VEIL

This is a beautiful vintage hat from the 1940s' that showcases the intricate millinery designs of the era. The round crown has 2 openings at the back, ending in a large bow.The short brim is turned up, creating a "halo" effect. There is intricate off white trim around the top edge. A black veil finishes the look. Photos show the veil over the face, and also placed over the hat. Simply gorgeous! Label; NDEW YORK CREATION - Adjustable The New York Dress Institute was formed in 1941 by fashion publicist Eleanor Lambert as a joint venture between the clothing manufacturers of New York City & the ILGWU. The label was created by a group of well-known designers who wanted to remain anonymous & wanted to support the New York Creation label & keep it competitive with French styles of the era. The label is small, white and blue. Please keep in mind that you are buying a vintage hat, not new nor perfect! This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years.
