Mid-Century Modern unglazed greige and glazed white studio pottery pig sculpture/bank designed in the 1960s by David Gil and Yusuke Aida for Bennington Potters of Vermont (model #1541). It is a very nice piece of Americana art with a simple design.
The pig has what appears to be its original stopper. Unfortunately, the piggy bank had an accident somewhere in its history and is missing the top piece of the right ear (if you are facing the pig). It is a fairly clean break. The price of the pottery piece reflects the damage to the ear. Other than damaged ear there are no other cracks or breaks.
