Exquisite midcentury handbag made in Italy for John Wanamaker of Wanamaker's department stores, circa 1960s. Glazed black leather body. Gold-tone hardware, including polished gancino / upside-down horseshoe ornaments on flap and sides. Front flap with magnetic closure. Raw leather lining of flap. Black faux-leather lining inside bag with interior zipper pocket. Signed on lining: "Made in Italy for John Wanamaker". Single nonadjustable strap can be worn over shoulder or crossbody. Very good vintage condition. Leather recently cleaned and conditioned. Clean lining. Minor scratches on exterior. See all photos.
