Meissen’s history goes back to 1710 and was the first high-quality porcelain to be produced outside of the Orient. The famous crossed-swords mark was introduced in 1720 as a trademark. The mark on the bottom of this lovely trinket box dates it from between 1934-1945. The hand-painted blue flowers and insects have the added touch of rich gold accents. The box with lid measures approximately 3 by 2 inches by 1.5 inches tall. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
