Purchased 2 pairs in different sizes from Free People and kept 1 and forgot to return the other pair in time

Do these fit like a women's size 9.5? I've been hearing that these run large an usually an EU 40 is a size 9.5

@akayyyv I"m so sorry I have been away for a couple of weeks. I normally wear a 40 or size 9 and I kept the 9. I read the same thing and that's why I purchased the smaller size. My daughter also wears a size 9 and she thought the 8.5 was a tiny bit too small. I hope that helps.
