One side features a bird perched among bamboo & blossoms, accented w ruby & a gorgeous opal stone symbolic of vitality and prosperity. The reverse displays the character 壽 (Shòu), meaning “Longevity,” a traditional blessing of long life. Purchased via an auction as an antique but my guess is that this is a mid-century (1950s–1960’s) revival piece combining beauty, symbolism, and cultural charm. Either way, it’s stunning.
