The box itself sits on 4 decorate "legs" at each corner, and the gold chain inside allows the lid to fully open. With its legs, the closed box stands 3.5" tall, and measures 5" wide x 5" deep. With the lid fully open, the box measures 8" tall. The inside compartment of the box measures 2.5" deep and 4.75x4.75 wide. The box, without anything inside, weighs approximately 1 lb 4 oz. The bottom of the box is mirrored, and all other sides are clear glass. The closure is a very detailed gold dragonfly snap.
