While born in Panama, she spent her early life in Virginia before moving to Colorado in 1977, where her work was influenced by the Southwest and its Indigenous people after a visit to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Her dolls often incorporate feathers, beads, fabrics, precious stones, and recycled materials, blending various folk art techniques.
