This vintage ceramic figurine by C. Alan Johnson depicts an Inuit girl child "Emma" laying on her stomach with her hands on each side of her face. The handmade piece was manufactured in 1972 and is signed by the artist. The figurine stands at almost 3 inches tall and is 5.5 inches in length.

According to the Anchorage Daily News, Alan was a talented sculptor and watercolorist and the designer of the much loved Alaska figurines. With his artist wife, he co-founded the C. Alan Johnson Co. in 1958. They produced artwork for 48 years, until 2006, when he retired at the age of 80 and they closed the business.
