Vintage Harley Davidson Black Leather Motorcycle Coat
The first ever biker jacket was created back in 1913 by brothers Irving and Jack Schott, founders of the Schott NYC. However, it wasn’t until 1928 that the siblings would release the world’s first motorcycle jacket (named the Perfecto) for Harley Davidson.
Once the 1950s hit, the motorcycle jacket shot to fame. More specifically, Hollywood heartthrob, Marlon Brando, rocked Schott’s Perfecto. Next came James Dean in the 1950’s. During the 1980s, Punk music came under the spotlight and the subculture gave the motorcycle jacket its most notorious transformation of all.
This classic look has been seen on the backs of popular A-Listers such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp. Such stars began to shape the way the biker jacket was portrayed by the world.
This is a a vintage 1980’s men’s post AMF Harley Davidson motorcycle jacket. It is nicely broken in and all the zippers and snaps are in great working condition. It features three outer pockets, one inner left side pocket, and it is fully lined. This jacket is made in Korea, however it is American cowhide. Jackets that were made in Korea for Harley Davidson were produced in the late seventies and the early eighties.
