Engineered knit mesh, breathable and soft, with a more “stripped-back” overlay / heat-melt structure revamped compared to previous versions. The design reduces bulk by eliminating some overlays. The heel has a plusher construction with a reflective heel panel. Compression-molded EVA (CMEVA) foam that is softer / more responsive than prior generation. The Clifton 9 has ~3 mm more stack height than Clifton 8, improving cushioning underfoot without adding weight. Swing-through / rocker geometry ("early-stage Meta-Rocker") to help smooth heel-to-toe transitions.
