​Vintage Cast Iron Galleon Ship Bookend Nautical Figurine Decor

​This charming, small cast iron figurine is designed in the shape of a magnificent galleon ship, capturing the essence of historical maritime travel. It has a beautiful, mottled copper/bronze-tone finish, giving it a rich, old-world patina. The heavy cast iron construction makes it perfect for use as a single bookend, a paperweight, or a collectible decorative accent on a shelf or mantle. On the back of the piece, near the base, there are small raised letters that appear to be HBM, which may be a maker's mark. ​The piece is a compact size, measuring approximately 4.0 inches tall and 3.75 inches wide at the base. It has a substantial weight of nearly 1.2 pounds. Cast iron ship doorstops and bookends were popular in the early to mid-20th century (1920s–1950s), making this a great piece of nautical Americana history.
