On February 10th 2000, Ken Griffey Jr. signed a 9-year contract with the Cincinnati reds and became the newest member of the oldest team in professional baseball. Two months later, he became the youngest player in baseball history to hit 400 career home runs. During 11 seasons with the Seattle Mariners Griffey compiled a .299 batting average, was named an All-Star outfielder 10 times and became a member of the prestigious Major League baseball all Century Team.
