This is a vintage Japanese Moriage terracotta teapot, estimated to be from the mid-twentieth century. Moriage is a Japanese ceramic decorating technique where designs are built up on the surface using applied slip, creating a three-dimensional effect. It's often associated with ornate Japanese export porcelain. The technique involves applying layers of slip (liquid clay) and then firing to create raised relief designs. This piece is in excellent, vintage condition. Pre owned vintage items have been used and stored; expect wear consistent with age and use. If you’re interested, make an offer. Thanks for looking.
