Charming mid-century Santa and Mrs. Claus made in the classic 1950s–60s style: foam bodies covered in flocking, hand-pinned sequins, and pearly trim. These were the kind of sparkly, light-catching figures that sat on TV tops, mantels, and card tables during the golden age of Christmas kitsch.
Both figures are original — not remakes, not re-pinned reproductions. The sequins and pins are still bright with age-darkening on the metal, which is expected and adds authenticity. No maker’s marks on the bases (labels likely removed long ago).
Details
• Approx. 7.5" tall x 4.5" wide each
• Foam bodies with flocking beneath sequins
• Hand-pinned red faceted sequins + white pearlescent sequin trim
• Santa still has his belt, buckle & beard intact
• Mrs. Claus has her original wire glasses
• Bases are heavier than the bodies — stable display pieces
• 99% of sequins and pins present (see photos)
• No breaks or structural damage
Noted Wear (shown in photos, sold as found):
• Some wear to mittens and shoes
• Light flocking loss on bases
• A few darkened pins from age
• Tops of hats once had small pompoms — mostly worn
• Mrs. Claus’ wrist loops have separated (shown up close)
Nothing loose, nothing falling apart — they display beautifully and still catch light exactly as they should.
