This decorative and collectible vintage black metal motto Trivet features a raised image of a woman cooking at a wood stove. The text reads, "THE HURRIER I GO THE BEHINDER I GET." This type of item was popular in the mid-20th century as kitschy kitchen decor, a wall hanging, or it can be displayed as a decorative piece. Trivets are used to protect table or countertop surfaces from heat damage caused by hot pots and pans. They can also be used inside a pot in the oven to elevate food and prevent burning on the bottom. The trivet is made of cast iron, designed to look like a small plaque or wall hanging. Such items are often used as home decor or as gifts. Many of these were produced by manufacturers like Wilton, often stamped "USA". Measurements and both sides shown in photos. In excellent condition. Smoke free home. Check out my other collectible “saying” tributes available for purchase in my closet.
