This rare amazing turquoise flower design was created by Federico Jimenez and is instantly recognized as his unique style. He was born in the village of Tututepec, Mexico. He received a degree in science and art from the University of Benito Juarez in Oaxaca, Mexico and then moved to California. Jimenez became fascinated with Meso-American jewelry and clothing as a child when he and his father unearth a Pre-Columbian Mixtec Indian pectoral buried under their house. His jewelry has been exhibited at the Anthropological Museum of Mexico City.
