Vintage Wolsey Made in Scotland Pure New Wool Sweater – Size UK14 - Natural

This Wolsey pure new wool sweater was made in Scotland by one of the oldest textile companies in the world. It features a plunging V-neck with a wide collar, and it has a tie belt; the sleeves have 5” cuffs that can be left down or turned up. Between the 1950s and the 1970s, Wolsey produced women's clothing. Today, it focuses exclusively on menswear. This timeless classic is both vintage and a rare find. As noted on the tag, it’s size GB14 (ie: UK14) “to fit bust 91cm / 36”; when measured prior to listing, it was 17” (43cm) from pit-to-pit and 28” (71cm) long; the sleeves measure 29” (73.5cm). As noted on the tag – “By appointment to Her Majesty the Queen Hosiery Manufacturers” - Wolsey holds a Royal Warrant. It was first granted by His Majesty King George V in 1935, then by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1953 and by His Majesty King Charles in 2024.
