Vintage Black Cashmere Gold Beaded Cardigan (UL42) Regal Monarchy Design READ

This is a sweater gleaned from a trunk in my Aunt Gladys' basement when I cleaned out her house in the Hollywood Hills. I could neither throw it out nor donate it because it's so beautiful, but there are flaws, and I'll tell you about them. When I took this to the dry cleaners, they got mad at me because the garment was so delicate. We estimated it to be around 80 years old. The lining had come away from the collar (see photos) and there were some broken threads in the beadwork (near the hem, but not much more). When photographing the sweater, I noticed several holes, most of which I've photographed. Also, because of the cashmere contents of the knit, the wool attracts every single piece of hair in the house - dog, cat, people. That said, it's a staggeringly beautiful statement piece. I have priced it appropriate to its condition. Therefore, I believe this would be more suitable for a theatre costume or some other event where pageantry or regalia was called for. The design of the gold beaded embellishment across the yoke, on the back, and at the cuffs seem to me to be very grand and military, but perhaps they are of a style, like Art Nouveau, that I can't pin down. The body is lined in black silk, not the sleeves. Please look at all the photos. EU Size 42 might also mean UK 42, alas. Here are the measurements: Pit-to-pit: 22" Shoulder seam to seam: Approx 16" Sleeve length: 22" Length from should seam to hem: 25" 7 black pearl-like buttons, plus 2 flat black pearl-finish.
