Chic Gold and Black Shell Drop Earrings

Elegant and timeless Italian estate 14K yellow gold and black onyx drop earrings, circa 1980s–1990s. Each earring features a beautifully detailed ribbed/scalloped fan or shell motif in warm 14K yellow gold, suspended above a long, high-polish black onyx teardrop that moves gracefully with every turn of the head. The contrast between the textured gold fan and the mirror-like onyx is absolutely striking — classic Italian design at its finest. Clearly marked “14K ITALY” on the post and with a partial three-letter maker’s mark ending in CM (the first letter has worn but is consistent with known Vicenza goldsmiths of the period, most likely FCM). Total weight is a substantial 8.5–9 grams of solid 14K yellow gold. Excellent vintage condition — worn but lovingly cared for, with no damage to the onyx and no repairs.
