A truly fabulous Majolica pitcher from the 1880's with the high-relief of a wild rose pattern. It has a blue background with yellow roses and green leaves and is a heavy stoneware. The handle is a brown branch shape and extends the florals on each side. These pieces are recognizable by the distinct figural "butterfly" spout. The base is a brown basketweave pattern and the top has a linen fold style. The interior is a dusty pink and it has a glazed finish. This was designed by Griffen, Smith & Hill and made in Phoenixville Pennsylvania. It measures approx 7.25" in height and a 6" diameter at the widest point. This is in excellent condition especially considering it's 140+ age! A beautiful collectible American Majolica pitcher! Thanks for looking!
