Very chic, and very intricate, vintage French faux pearl lariat necklace from the art deco era. Lampwork glass pearls hand-strung in a crochet-like pattern that graduates in size. Champagne-like color with a beautiful pearly sheen. I believe both the pearls themselves as well as the design are by Louis Rousselet - a fabulous French parurier who created jewelry for a number of the French couture houses. Rousselet created a piece Ive had in the past that was nearly identical except it had two central rows of pearls, rather than one. Though its more common now for lariat necklaces to be worn towards the front, I especially love this piece worn more akin to some of the original flapper styles, to the side, or across the front of the neck with the open ends trailing down the back - but it can be worn in a number of ways. About 27.5 end to end.
