Holt Howard Christmas Santa golf ball in original cardboard and plastic dome package, vintage from the 1960s. The golf ball has a Santa face painted on it (as others I’ve seen online, the paint didn’t fully reach the indents in spots) and is nestled in green tinsel garland. I don’t think it’s an ornament with a hanging loop, but as it is unopened, I’m not sure.
The packaging measures 5" across. Marked “A Merry Slice of Christmas Greetings" and, "Another Holt Howard Original Japan”.
It’s possible that it was opened at one time, but the tape is old, and cute Santa and the tinsel are unfaded, appearing clean and bright as new.
About Holt Howard:
Brothers John and Robert Howard, along with college friend Grant Holt, started Holt-Howard in 1949.
Holt Howard’s kitschy and colorful line of mid-century Christmas wares featured winking and starry-eyed Santas, angels, pixie elves, reindeer, snowmen and a wide variety of other highly collectible, whimsical Christmas figures and functional holiday decor in the 1960s. The company ceased its operations in 1990.
