Rare Silvestri / Department 56 Marjolein Bastin miniature music box from the early Nature’s Sketchbook era. Petite piece measures approx. 3" tall and is sculpted as a straw / reed sheaf tied with twine. Tiny pencils and paintbrushes wrap around the bundle, with a Bastin-style songbird clinging to the side. The yellow pencil is marked with her “MB” initials. On the underside is a wood base with metal wind-up key stamped with an “S” for Silvestri, confirming the maker. Classic early-1990s Bastin collectible.
