This is a Stangl Town & Country brown spongeware sugar bowl with lid.
The pattern, called "Town & Country Brown", was produced by Stangl Pottery in New Jersey.
It was introduced in 1975 to replace the "Black Town & Country" line and was discontinued in 1978 when the factory closed, making it a short-lived collection.
The piece is approximately 5 inches in height.
The design was created by Robert Roemer, Rudy Kleinebeckel, and Irene Sarnecki
