Like and save for later
High school senior Andrew Perrault finds refuge in the twisted fairytales that he writes for the only person who can ground him to reality―Thomas Rye, the boy with perpetually ink-stained hands and hair like autumn leaves. And with his twin sister, Dove, inexplicably keeping him at a cold distance upon their return to Wickwood Academy, Andrew finds himself leaning on his friend even more. But something strange is going on with Thomas. His abusive parents have mysteriously vanished, and he arrives at school with blood on his sleeve. Thomas won't say a word about it, and shuts down whenever Andrew tries to ask him questions. Stranger still, Thomas is haunted by something, and he seems to have lost interest in his artwork―whimsically macabre sketches of the monsters from Andrew's wicked stories. Desperate to figure out what's wrong with his friend, Andrew follows Thomas into the off-limits forest one night and catches him fighting a nightmarish monster―Thomas's drawings have come to life and are killing anyone close to him. To make sure no one else dies, the boys battle the monsters every night. But as their obsession with each other grows stronger, so do the monsters, and Andrew begins to fear that the only way to stop the creatures might be to destroy their creator...

nessiebugs @hepburn922 Hi! All my books are cross posted and I sold Once Upon a Broken Heart on Pango. However, I'd be happy to sell the other three for $6 with discounted shipping if you'd like to decline the current offer or counter offer it :)

hepburn922 I need to keep an eye on your closet. Out of curiosity is there a book that you’ve read that you can’t or won’t part with?

nessiebugs @hepburn922 Yes! I definitely have a couple that are hard to let go of. I have an ARC of The Spellshop, special editions of One Dark Window and Two Twisted Crowns, a B&N exclusive of Kiki's Delivery Service, and My Neighbor Totoro. The rest of my bookshelf are all books I got recently for Christmas. But I would say out of all the ones I got rid of, Red Rising and Caraval / Once Upon a Broken Heart were my favorite series from this year.

hepburn922 The reason I asked because you’ve sold some real good ones so I was thinking to myself that maybe you don’t have an attachment to them after you’ve read them ( which is not a bad thing) I however find it so hard to part with books that I’ve read. But it’s to know the ones that makes you think twice about selling or giving them away.

nessiebugs @hepburn922 That's understandable! A lot of the books I've sold I either sourced from Goodwill or impulse bought on other platforms like WN and Pango because I wanted to support the seller at the time. A few are from my personal collection that I've only read once and don't plan on rereading. There's very little I keep for nostalgic reasons or I would want to reread in the future.

hepburn922 Nice. I really wish I wasn’t that attached and because I annotate my books it’s even harder to them go. But good for you though.

hepburn922 Happy New Year. I was nice chatting with you.

nessiebugs @hepburn922 Touche! I also get overwhelmed when my bookshelf gets full. I usually annotate with sticky notes to remind myself of main characters, their characteristics, and other important details. Then remove them when I plan to resell it.

nessiebugs @hepburn922 Happy New Year to you too! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your night 🫶🏻
