Delicate vintage embossed print of Wentletrap sea shells from 1978.
The artist used embossed printing technique to create raised, three-dimensional forms of seashells on paper, making the intricate forms and whiteness of the seashells to stand out for a luxurious, tactile effect.
Wentletrap seashells come from marine snails (family Epitoniidae) known for their stunning, high-spired, turret-like shells with distinct spiral ribs, resembling tiny white staircases or ladders, with the most famous being the Precious Wentletrap (Epitonium scalare) depicted in the lower right cornet of the composition.
Silver-tone polished metal frame is approx 8.5" wide x 6.5" high. Print 6” wide x 4” high
Pre-Owned, in very good condition. See Photos.
