This mini cross stitch was hand stitched by me. Its size is 1 5/8” x 1 5/16”, and only a little bigger than a dime. It’s perfect for display framed or unframed. Vincent van Gogh painted several self-portraits with felt hats, but the most renowned is the Self-Portrait with Grey Felt Hat (1887-88), celebrated for its bold, Pointillist-inspired use of complementary colors like blue and orange, creating a vibrant halo effect and showcasing his Parisian artistic development. Another significant work is the earlier Self-Portrait with Dark Felt Hat (1886), which reveals his emerging style and the layers beneath, but the "grey hat" version is key for its experimental color and brushwork, marking a distinct phase in his journey. The painting is located at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. Note: Frame not included.
