Vintage Cowichan Natural Wool Hand Knit Sweater Handmade Sun Motif No Tags

I’m selling this incredible, heavy-weight handmade wool sweater. It was passed down to me with the note that it is "very, very old," and the craftsmanship definitely backs that up. It has no tags and is made from thick, bulky, 100% raw sheep’s wool. This is a true Cowichan-style piece featuring a unique sun or "spirit face" motif on the front and back, with matching geometric patterns on the sleeves. Based on the knit and style, it likely dates back to the 1950s–1970s. There is some noticeable yellowing/discoloration around the collar and in the white sections of the wool. I believe this is natural lanolin staining or oxidation common with untreated vintage wool. I have not attempted to clean this and will leave any professional cleaning or whitening up to the buyer to ensure the integrity of the vintage fibers is maintained.
