VINTAGE 30s/40s Art Deco Orange Bakelite Carved Brooch

VINTAGE 30s/40s Art Deco Orange Bakelite Floral Motif Carved Brooch Measures: 3” x 2” I purchased this from a reputable vintage Posher for a pretty penny! It appeared to be a marbled red color, but when I began to clean it up a bit, the red began to smudge off, exposing the lovely orange underneath. I think it looks interesting with the two-tone color scheme. The carved floral motif is intricate and deep. C-clasp on the back is functional and secure. Note the hairline crack along the top and back ~ you can see how the red paint/dye settled into it. This piece is substantial & chunky! Passes the friction and hot water test ~ the distinct smell of formaldehyde is evident.
