With Armenian turquoise sources now largely closed, pieces like this represent a diminishing supply of authentically sourced material from Teghut (or Tekhut) copper-molybdenum mine in northern Armenia's Lori region.
This natural turquoise heishi necklace features hand-cut disc beads with a soft, matte finish that highlights the stone's organic character. Unlike commercially polished turquoise strands, this piece was intentionally left matte to preserve the stone’s natural surface and character.
Subtle color variation and natural matrix are present, reflecting minimally processed turquoise.
The turquoise beads were originally purchased a reputable gemstone dealer specializing in turquoise and Armenian material. Multiple lots from this purchase were examined by a Polish gemological laboratory (Pracowni V immologiczna - hank Madyańchi Dalanal)with the material reported as originating from Armenia per dealer declaration.
