Southwestern Zuni Style Sterling Mosaic Inlay Clip-On Earrings, Handmade, Signed. Circa 1970s-90s. The geometric mosaic design has individually cut stone and shell elements, including turquoise, set in a smooth, flush inlay with dark matrix lines, construction strongly associated with traditional Zuni style jewelry of the American Southwest. Oval shaped, approximately 0.75" long and 0.50" wide. Total weight is 0.2 oz. Earrings are in good, vintage condition. Minor surface scratches present, consistent with wear, age, and storage. Some patina also present on silver, consistent with age. The mosaic inlay is intact with no visible cracks or missing pieces. Clip backs work well; hinges function properly and are not loose. "STERLING," clearly legible on one earring. Other earring is likely hand engraved by the artisan, appearing to read, "DA," but it's partially obscured by the clasp. The maker remains unidentified.
