The 1950s Pendleton Turnabout skirt was a highly coveted, reversible pleated wool skirt, a major fashion craze alongside poodle skirts, known for its classic tartan plaid patterns that offered two looks in one, featuring a two-sided zipper and button closure. Reversible Design-One side featured a distinct pattern (like a large red plaid), while the reverse offered a complementary, often darker or different scale plaid.
Made from high-quality, 100% wool, typical of Pendleton garments.
Stitched-down pleats allowed the patterns to be distinct on each side.
Featured a two-sided zipper and a button at the waistband for easy reversal.
A staple for teenage girls and young women in the 1950s.
☆Condition: Good vintage condition with honest signs of age. There are several stains visible throughout (shown in photos and video), a small tear from a missing button, and one small additional hole. "turnabout" label is missing and residual can be seen.
The skirt is otherwise very sound for its age. I have not attempted cleaning & results may vary☆
☆Please review all photos and measurements carefully prior to purchase as they are part of the description☆
