Offered here is a pair of antique round wire-rim eyeglasses with classic cable (riding bow) temples and their original hard case. The thin metal frames have simple round lenses, a small nose bridge with early style nose pads, and long flexible temples that curve fully around the ear, a design that was widely used from the 1880s through the 1940s. The look closely matches early 20th-century “Windsor” and similar round spectacles worn in the 1910–1930 period, before plastic frames and bolder shapes became popular.
The glasses come in a black hard case with a curved, clamshell-style lid. The exterior shows wear, edge rubbing, and some surface loss common to leatherette or paper-over-board cases of this age, while the interior remains intact and still protects the glasses. The frames themselves show age-appropriate patina, small scuffs, and light oxidation to the metal finish, but the cable temples are complete, the hinges function, and the lenses remain seated in the rims.
Round wire-rim spectacles with full wrap-around cable temples, nose pads, and a simple metal bridge became common after about 1900 and remained in use into the 1930s–1940s. Earlier 1800s glasses more often had straight temples or sliding sidepieces, while post-1940 frames shifted toward plastic or heavier metal styles. Based on the cable temples, round lens shape, and overall construction, these glasses are most consistent with an approximate manufacture date in the 1910–1930 range.
