8 CORNFLOWER FOOTED TUMBLERS

We are offering together a set of eight vintage Hughes ‘Cornflower’ footed tumblers with an optic bowl. The W.J. Hughes Co. was an iconic Canadian firm that was founded in 1915 and sold glass with the distinctive ‘Cornflower’ floral cutting on it for over seventy years. The firm closed in 1988 – still at the height of popularity with the buying public – because the American glass houses on which they relied for their blanks had all closed their doors. This set of footed glasses is in the classic ‘Cornflower’ style, a crisp floral cutting on delicate glass with the slightly wavy texture of an optic rib in the bowl. Each of the conical tumblers is 4 inches tall, and all are in excellent condition, without cracks, chips, scratches, clouding, or any other damage or defect.
