80s vintage red pink embroidered funky shirt pants matching two piece coord set

Rare! this is a super funky vintage two piece matching set from the late 80s or early 90s in a beautiful pink/red color, that is in brand new deadstock condition, still with its original tags on! the top is made of a cotton/rayon/silk blend that feels sturdy with a bit of a shine to it, and it features a crew neckline, padded shoulders, long roomy sleeves, and a decorative four front button closure. there are colorful embroidered accents and gold metal spirals adorned to a knitted fabric around the shoulders, and the top has thick ribbing around the neckline, sleeve cuffs, and waist/bottom hemline. the matching high waist trousers are made of a cotton/rayon blend, and they have a stretchy elastic waistband (they are pull-on style with no closure), a straight leg, and no pockets. both garments are unlined and are made in hong kong. such a fun and comfy set that would be perfect to wear to an 80s costume party, or just for casual retro wear. I love that the pieces can be styled together and apart! tagged as size large and I would say this best fits womens size medium or large. in excellent new deadstock condition. measurements (lying flat): shirt~ bust (pit to pit): 18" across waistband: 10-11” across unstretched, but the waistband is ribbed and has stretch centre back length: 25” pants ~ across waistband: 12” (or 24" when doubled) – measured unstretched but elastic waistband has stretch hips: 19-20” across centre back length: 41”
