925 sterling silver signed designer modified modernist ring

This is a very unique piece because it has been modified at some point. The setting is 925 sterling silver made by a modernist jewelry designed Mark Poulin. I couldn't find a piece from him that looked like this, so I contacted him. He was intrigued! Turns out he sells this ring with a small pearl in the center from what I remember. Someone had removed it (damaged perhaps?) and replaced it was this orangey-amber colour center (unsure of the material, maybe resin).
