Hi! I'm Kristin, Posher since 2012, east coast native (yay Pittsburgh!) living in Philly, but also missing Portland, OR, where I lived for 3 years. I'm a Fashion Merchandising grad with a passion for visual display and an obsession with shoes and jewels. I love traveling, art, books, FOOD, and binge watching TV shows. I have many vices. I am a cheerful person but I roll my eyes a lot and complain like it's a competitive sport. I love memes (who doesn’t?). Enough about me, tell me about you!

fancypantsmcgee @dawson649 Hey Angelina! Thanks for the kind words! The only way I know to do it is to manually type each user name in your comment. Or if you have a list of names saved in your Notes app on your phone, you could copy and paste that. But keep in mind there's a 500 character limit on comments so if you're trying to paste a lot, it wont let you post the comment til it's under 500 characters. Hope that made sense!

fancypantsmcgee @jamie101 Hi Jamie! Thanks so much! It took a long time, I've been on Posh for 5 years. I think being a Suggested User/Posh Ambassador has helped the most with accumulating followers (as well as being really active in the app in general). Especially years ago when the suggested user program was a bit different and SUs would get huge chunks of followers all at once vs a more regular stream of followers.

fancypantsmcgee @npolicky Thanks so much! I do take my photos with my iPhone. I use a photography backdrop and lay it down on a table for my background (or just use a plain white table). The most helpful thing is the studio lighting it that I purchased on Amazon for around $50. It is definitely a lifesaver for making photos nice and bright when you don't have access to great natural light. Hope that helps!

fancypantsmcgee @len11238 Thank you! Of course, the one I have is a LimoStudio lighting kit with umbrella lights. If you get on Amazon and search LimoStudio lighting kit, it should be one of the first few results. It's currently priced at $52.99 and is the one with the two umbrella lights (there's also a similar version at the top with soft box lights that would work just as well). I've had this for a couple years now and it's been a life saver! Definitely a worthy investment.

Some things I've found helpful: share often (which it looks like you already do!), including sharing your own closet frequently, follow Poshers who wear the sizes/like the brands you carry, have crisp and clear photos (try to include as many as possible), write detailed descriptions, including things like measurements and fabric content when possible. These are all pretty simple and you are probably already doing them, but they should definitely aid in your success.

When I'm trying to do flat lays I tell my man I'm attempting to "Fancy Pants McGee it" and ummmm I just cant seem to nail it- Do you take pictures and then edit with an app or just take them while you are listing?

Before that I just used natural lighting. I do edit photos some of the time. If I do, it's typically just using an app on my phone to increase brightness. I've been using the same app for years, it's called Camera+. I hope that helps!

miss_moneypenny Hello, I do have one question for you. How do you manage to organize all the clothing that you have for sale on Poshmark? That’s been a struggle for me. I have a lot of listings & a lot of product and I still haven’t come up with a good solution for storage. Right now I have those professional rolling racks that you see in retail storage clothing stores in the hallway and in my bedroom. It’s very overwhelming.

I have a rolling rack and there's some open shelving with space for hanging stuff and shelves (I keep my sweaters and jeans folded). And I have three shoe racks. I like to keep everything out in the open where I can see it and am fortunate to have the space to do so.

I had a baby earlier this year and have found that I often only have a few moments to check in here 😆 My #1 tip is always invest in good lighting! This was a game changer for me and makes a difference even if you don’t have a bunch of fun props to add to your photos.

I hate to invest a lot of money in lights if I’m not gonna sell anything but maybe I won’t sell anything unless I invest in lights. I was wondering exactly what kind of lights I should look for.? Don’t worry about answering right away I’m not in a huge hurry and I’m sure you’re probably already sleep deprived. Thanks.

fancypantsmcgee @earthsong69 I totally get it! You could also try some photo editing apps that will help brighten up your photos. I have less experience with those but I know many people have great success with using them (clear, bright photos tend to do very well on Poshmark). Two apps that I know of are Snapseed and PicTapGo. If you want to go the lighting route at some point, try searching for umbrella lighting kits on Amazon. The brand I have is LimoStudio.
