These handmade Abaca Slides are hand made from the shoe capital of the Philippines Marikina city. Abaca came from a species of banana that is native in the Philippines. It is extracted from the leaf-stem of the Manila hemp, a self-sustaining plant. It has a great economic importance and is harvested for its strong, versatile fiber that can be woven into home and fashion accessories including shoes.
