Copper kettle with lid dating to the Victorian period, resting on an ornate brass stand. Instead of a burner, there's a cylindrical insert into which a piece of heated iron was placed. Beautiful detailing to lid and handles, which are turned wood (shaped using a lathe). Makes an eye-catching accent piece in a kitchen or display as a gorgeous showpiece! Kettle measures approx. 11.25”H x 11”L x 9”W; stand is 8”H x 12”L x 6.5”W. Total height from base of stand to top of kettle handle is 15.25”. Made in England by John S. Pyrke, Tea-Urn & Swing Kettle Maker (1755-1834). Lid signed J S Pyrke & Sons London. VERY GOOD antique condition. Copper is bright yet retains expected patina for an item of this age. Both pieces show appropriate wear consistent with use.
