...portable vinyl player
A rare iconic Philips portable vinyl record player, shaped like a slender ladies purse dating 1955-1957. This model can be connected to a radio to amplify the sound. This model came in Red, green or yellow, this being the red version. It has 3 speeds, 33 / 45 / 78 rpm and has a US plug / plays at 110V, although according to some online information, there should be an option to convert it to 220V.
Condition: The record player has power, and will play records fairly well although the drive belt may need attention as I feel it is a little slow / underpowered. The power cable is very discoloured. The needle (cartridge type AG3010 with double needle) had an crystal element in the middle that liquifies with age, and this one has done just that. It needs repair to the needle cartridge / parts replacing. The casing with wear and stains but looks sturdy and closes well.
It looks to be complete with power cable, radio connector cable, and the central turntable adapter to play singles that have a larger central hole. The lid can be taken off easily to allow easier handling.
It weighs about 4 kg without packaging materials.
