Hi. If this is a genuine Coach F17728, then it is not vinyl but patent leather. I'm not an expert but I do have a fair amount of experience with Coach and it appears authentic. If you are ever in doubt you should have it authenticated.

@harleyistheone hi Monica I do appreciate your questions and feedback and you are right that I am that familiar with Coach products I am selling some bags for a friend of mine and this bag is most definitely authentic, it does have minimal wear but overall is in very good condition. As far as the difference b/T vinyl and patent leather completely my shortcoming I really can’t tell the difference but patent leather does sound much better for such a quality product thanks Tanna J
