Vintage Avon Cape Cod Decanter, Ruby Red ,1876 Cape Cod Collection, Made in USA, Commemorate Pattern, Dark Red Small Decanters Famous Avon ruby red decanter. This beautiful bottle with the stopper is from the Avon 1876 Cape Cod Collection. Measures approx. 8" ( 20cm )high, 10" ( 25.5cm ) with stopper and 2.5" ( 6cm ) base , 4.5" ( 11cm ) in the widest part. Hold about 0.5L/500ml/17.5fl.oz. Made in the USA, c. 1975s It is in excellent vintage condition. Curiosity: This pattern was based on an early Sandwich design and inspired by the lacy delicacy of the classic Roman Rosette pattern. Not only does it recall the beauty of this quality glass, but its name commemorates both the spirit of the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial, which celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the area where Sandwich glass originated. As a result Avon chose to call their new dinnerware, the 1876 Cape Cod Collection. Cruets were filled with the legendary Skin-So-Soft Bath Oil. Introduced by Avon in 1961, it remains one of Avon's best-loved brands. Now people around the world are enjoying these beautiful decanters with the oils and vinegar.
