An old bisque porcelain statue titled "Abschied," German for "Farewell." It depicts a German soldier wearing his kit being hugged by his wife before being deployed. It was probably made in WW1 or just after it; the uniform of the soldier was in use between 1907 and about 1916. There are no chips and the couple's eyes and mouths are accented in gold. There is maker's mark on the rear but I cannot find a match. It is 8 3/4" in height, 4 1/4" in width and just under 3" in depth.
