African Wood Statue Of Queen Idia Of Benin

A hardwood African statue of Queen Idia of Benin. She is wearing large earrings and has an ornate hairdo. The statue is very detailed but has some wear (please note the split; it does not go all the way through and is quite solid). Idia was the mother of Esigie, Oba of the Edo people in the Kingdom of Benin in modern Nigeria. The statue is 10 3/4" tall and is 2 7/8" wide by 4" in depth at its base.
