This is an Alfred Meakin Royal Marigold "Cup of Knowledge" teacup and saucer set, designed for fortune-telling using tea leaves. The set features a floral pattern on the exterior and saucer, with a series of playing card graphics printed on the interior of the cup. It was part of a Lipton tea promotion and produced by Alfred Meakin, an English pottery brand. Both the cup and saucer are trimmed with 18kt gold leaf. The sets were produced around the 1920s and 1930s, making them vintage collector's items.
