I am always affected by full moons and because it was such a strong one, I could feel all my emotions tenfold plus I found myself rather anxious and edgy. bohomustgogo @elektra10 I’m so sorry to hear that!!! I can relate. Try taking magnesium everyday. It’s helped me tremendously. I have Fibro, EBV and CFS. I just had my thyroid removed in 2019 because it was cancerous so I was totally “out of whack.”

What’s happening to the world is stressful and worrisome plus I have been separated from my children and do not have a home of my own. So I’m trying to raise funds. But it’s tough. I am taking vitamins. I pray for things to be better.

elektra10 @oceanfemme images are important though many of mine are not consistent. But I’m using two limo studio large softbox with natural daylight bulbs. They give good light but I also have to edit the image to increase exposure because they are still a little dark. I just position one at a 45 degree angle in front and one from the side or slight behind/side lighting the item.

elektra10 @oceanfemme also it’s best to photograph on a white background especially selling something online so they say. A lot of background stuff is clutter to the eye so it’s hard to see the object. I’ve experimented with different backgrounds. I’m using just plain large oak tag where it can curve up. A slab of marble can be purchased for 5$ at Home Depot, and many of the images I’m using a 1” thick clear plexiglass- which gives the item depth plus some unique shadow which I like.

elektra10 @oceanfemme also if you put white cardboard the opposite the light it can bounce the light back on to the object. A little trick is to fold in half white card stock and place it to the backside or behind (not in the picture) as this will bounce light on the object. It’s hard to photograph shiny items (gold jewelry) as they are reflective and you end up capturing your own image, cell phone on the item for example.

elektra10 @oceanfemme I hope this helps. Just experimenting with light you will eventually achieve the look you desire. It’s very fun. Also sometime depending how cool/or warm or what color the object is will reflect a color tone to your image ie. Yellow or pink looking. You can edit your image to get more of the actual tone through your camera phone. Temperature/tint is what you want to adjust. Plus auto white balance first.

elektra10 @oceanfemme good morning. It is my great pleasure. Lighting seems always an issue. It’s important to photograph an item so it retains the actual color tones. The soft boxes you can get on Amazon for $91. But you can also uses two regular type spotlights and adjust the white balance, temperature, and tin to get more of the natural daylight color. You can also build a light which I did and it was best light ever before these softbox.

I almost purchased a Portable Photo Studio Kit with LED Lighting from B&H but after reading your suggestions, I think they might be too restrictive. Your style seems more flexible. Do think it's a good idea to buy a softbox kit? I found a MountDog 20x28 kit for $50.
