Alta Bunion Hanwag Boots

My favourite thing about Hanwag is that they're resolable, so once the sole wears down, you can have it easily replaced. This pair is unworn and also already protected with Hanwags water protection wax. This model has been discontinued and they only offer a Gore-tex version now. I far prefer non-Gore-tex boots because plain leather boots like these will dry out. Gore-tex footwear once it gets wet doesn't dry out so it makes for misery and blisters on any multi day hike. I've been teaching survival courses for over a decade and I have tested a lot of boots over the years, plain leather with sno-seal or leather wax performs significantly better. I bought two different styles and decided before wearing these that I preferred the other pair so am passing them on. All my Hanwags are comfortable immediately and I took the other pair I bought on a 3 day trek the second time I wore them and they were perfect. These are also my 4th pair, I have hiking shoes, city boots, and hiking boots for the more agressive terrain. I'm parting with this pair partially because I like the other pair slightly better but mainly because I don't see these wearing out and I don't want to store these for the next 10-15 years before deciding to sell them. My originals were the hiking shoes and they are 5 years old and still in fantastic shape even after extensive hiking. I expect it'll be another 5 years at least before resoling them. Basically, these are super durable boots.
